This cookie policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, what privaci.io stores in your browser, and how to change or withdraw your choice. We are a consent tool ourselves, so we describe our own practice the way we expect our customers to describe theirs: precisely, and without taking credit for anything we do not do.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, or follow you across pages. Besides cookies there are other technologies with the same purpose, such as local storage, pixel tags and fingerprinting. This policy covers every such technology that we use ourselves.
Cookies can come from the site you are visiting (first-party cookies) or from third parties the site uses (third-party cookies). They can be session cookies, which disappear when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which are stored for a period.
2. How privaci.io uses consent
privaci.io loads our own consent snippet from cdn.privaci.io. The snippet is the
first script in the page's head, because it has to hold non-essential tags back
before the browser fetches them. It reads your choice before anything else is allowed to run.
Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser — not as a cookie. The snippet sets no cookies to remember the choice, and it does not send your choice to third parties. If you have not made a choice, none is stored.
3. What is stored in your browser
The table below shows the keys our own consent snippet stores on privaci.io. All three live in
the browser's localStorage — not as cookies — and they are strictly necessary for
the consent service to work.

You can inspect and delete all three in your browser's developer tools under Application → Local Storage.
4. Necessary and non-essential technologies
Necessary technologies are technically required for the site to work and for us to document your consent choice. They do not require your consent and cannot be opted out of; without them the consent service could not function.
We set neither analytics nor marketing cookies on privaci.io today. We do not load third-party analytics or advertising tools on our own site. If we ever adopt such tools, they will only be set with your explicit consent, and this policy will be updated first.
The same snippet can block and release such cookies on our customers' own websites — that is the entire point of Privaci — but there the customer's choice and that site's own cookie policy apply.
5. Operations and CDN
privaci.io is delivered through a CDN (Cloudflare), which may set a strictly necessary security
cookie for bot protection, __cf_bm. It is used to distinguish humans from automated
traffic and does not share information with us for marketing.
6. How to change or withdraw your choice
You can reopen the consent choice at any time from the button the snippet shows on the page. You
can also delete the keys in the browser's localStorage, after which we will ask
again on your next visit.
In addition, you can configure your browser to block or delete cookies and site data. The settings are here:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Note that if you block all storage, the consent service cannot remember your choice and you will be asked again on your next visit.
7. Your consent and your rights
Under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive we require your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device. Your consent is:
- Voluntary — you can use the site with necessary storage only.
- Informed — you see a clear description of what each category involves.
- Granular — you can accept or reject each category separately.
- Withdrawable — you can change or withdraw your consent at any time.
- Documented — we store the timestamp and version of the consent in accordance with Article 7 GDPR.
As a data subject you also have the right to access, rectify and erase the personal data we process about you. Read our privacy policy for a full description of your rights and our legal bases.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this cookie policy when our use of cookies and similar technologies changes, or when legal requirements change. The date at the top of the page shows when the policy was last revised. Changes that require new consent will appear in the consent banner on your next visit.
